The basic contents of the course are:
- the basic knowledge of a “computer aided design (CAD)” environment
for the bi-dimensional drawing –AutoCAD-
- Basic knowledge of Environmental Drafting
The educational material for students consists of:
1. Downloadable slide on http://e-l.unifi.it/
2. AutoCad 2010 e AutoCad 2010 LT. La grande guida. Edoardo Pruneri,
Mondadori Informatica, 2009
3. AutoCAD 2010 Guida completa. Luigi Santapaga, Matteo Trasi, La
Feltrinelli
Learning Objectives
At the end of the course the student will be able to:
Create a drawing in 2D and 3D CAD environment
Draw by hand in orthogonal projection
To know, at basic level, the main symbols used for Technical Drawing in the field of Environmental Engineering.
Prerequisites
None
Teaching Methods
The course consists of lectures and tutorials.

Type of Assessment
Verification of learning is done by such a structured test:
a computer classroom test to verify the student's ability to represent a typical scenario of Environmental Engineering in a CAD environment;
A free-hand drawing test of an object/product to be represented by orthogonal projection views and/or sections.
Course program
The first part of the course will provide the basis for technical design with a particular focus on environmental standards. Afterwards, you will introduce the most frequently used AutoCAD functions. This allows you to learn the basic functions in order to
be able to start working quickly.
This course focuses on the following needs: 1.
What information do you need to start working?; 2. What is the method
Recommended to use the functions presented? Once you have acquired a
more familiar with AutoCAD, you will find your own way to work
in an efficient way according to your needs.
